Household Size & Poverty

This report contains information required by funders in the state of Iowa, as well as data that programs can use for program planning, evaluation, and Quality Improvement activities.

The section below contains information about each tab in the Iowa FSSD Report.

Reminder: Primary Caregiver and children with profiles and assessments entered into DAISEY will be represented in reports. The data only reflects families that are actively enrolled during the date range selected in the filter.

What does this report represent

This reports represents data entered into DAISEY for Iowa FSSD programs. Some graphs may have Unknown or Invalid data.  To review Unknown or Invalid data in these reports, review underlying data to determine what data needs corrected. Instructions for accessing underlying client level data and downloading PDF versions of reports are available in the DAISEY Technical Assistance Brief – How to Use DAISEY Reports.

USING FILTERS

Use the following filters to determine the data to review:

Reporting Year (fiscal year), Reporting Period (Quarter), and Short-term or Long-term program (applies to PFS/LSP tab only), Organization Name, Program Name and County Name.

Form: Primary Caregiver Profile

Questions considered: Enrollment Date, Discharge Date, Household Size

Who is counted: All Primary Caregivers who are actively enrolled anytime during the date range selected.

Notes:

  • Household size is reported by the Primary Caregiver at time of enrollment.
  • The Unknown category indicates the Primary Caregiver profiles that have the Household Size question blank.

Questions considered: Enrollment Date, Discharge Date, Annual Household Income, Household Size

Who is counted: All Primary Caregivers who are actively enrolled anytime during the date range selected.

Notes:

  • Federal Poverty Level is determined using the Federal Poverty Guidelines for the year of enrollment dating back to 2005. Enrollments dates before 2005 will show up in the Unknown category. For example, if a family enrolls in 2016 they will be assessed using the 2016 Federal Poverty Guidelines; families enrolled in 2017 will be assessed using the 2017 guidelines.
  • A family’s poverty level is calculated by using the Primary Caregivers self-reported income and household size.
  • The Unknown category indicates the Primary Caregiver profiles that have the Annual Household Income question or Household size blank or have a Date of Enrollment before 2005.
